    GFWC Mechanicsburg is currently working on the GFWC Pennsylvania President's Project "Enrich, Educate, Empower--Every Child Every Day".  The project encourages the GFWC Pennsylvania women to carry out projects to benefit the children of their community and/or of the world.

    GFWC Mechanicsburg will work to provide food, supplies, funds, volunteer hours and other needs to support the health and welfare of children in their schools and communities.

Upcoming Events:

 

GFWC Mechanicsburg will be making the centerpiece display for five tables at the GFWC PA convention April 28-29, 2017.  We will be collecting art supplies- coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, single play-do packs. Small toys under $10 such as race cars, action figures or small Lego kits.  Also activity books, word search and Sudoku books. For all ages infants to teens. NO big board games please.  We will collect these at the April 4th meeting or they may be taken to Carol Bogar's house.  After the convention the centerpiece items will be donated to Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation in conjunction with our President's Project.

February 25, 2017 - May 6, 2017: “Wide World Of Glass” Exhibit.

 

 

Art glass to utilitarian glass, with many varieties in between, glass is everywhere in our lives. Come have a look at it from our unique viewpoint!

 

 

March 15 at Noon: “Two Centuries of Riding the Rails” by Patrick C. Morrison, Railroad Museum Educator. A nostalgic look back at passenger travel in Pennsylvania from the perspective of the build­ing of the first railroad across the state and the beginnings of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

 

 

March 26 at 2pm: “Slavery and the Underground Railroad in South Central PA” by Cooper Wingert, Author and Historian. The untold story of South Central PA’s slaveholding past.
